Svend Nielsen

Svend Nielsen: Owner (Retired)

Svend retired in 2015, but you just may catch him in the shop on a Saturday going through stamps and post cards. Svend started the Common Market, South Front Antiques predecessor, in the 70's in Overton Square in Memphis. Later, he moved the business to its current location in Downtown Memphis. He specialized in stamps, postcards, and imported European architectural antiques from France and England. He is still giving advice and opinions from the sidelines.

Eric Nielsen

Eric Nielsen: Owner, Picker, and “Architecturologist”

Eric has been in the antique business for over 40 years. He has an eye for finding unique, architectural treasures. He has found his “picks” worldwide..as far as western-Europe and as close as around town, but it’s the story behind his “picks" that he enjoys most. He loves to share those stories with his customers. It’s more than a business...for him it's a passion!

Dawn Nielsen

Dawn Nielsen

Dawn never would have suspected she would be dealing in antiques! Her background is engineering and, later, finance. She married into the business in 2003 (Eric) and since then has been the operations specialist creating websites, managing marketing, inventory management, and accounting. Dawn enjoys working with customers, too...it's the fun part of her day!

Lara Scott

Lara Scott

While Lara officially joined South Front Antiques in early 2015, as Eric's niece and Svend's granddaughter, she grew up around the business. Prior to coming to South Front Antiques, Lara worked with some of the top designers in the stationery and event planning businesses in the South. As a result of that rigorous, creative experience, she has developed an outstanding eye for design.

Malcolm Barnett

Malcolm Barnett

Malcolm has been in the antique business for over 20 years. Among many other roles, Malcolm is South Front's hardware specialist. Hardware has its tricks of the trade…and Malcolm knows them. He is also the “go-to” guy for doors. Though we have thousands of doors in stock, Malcolm knows the inventory.
